Green Triangle
Banglore-Mysore-Ooty-Wayand-Coorg
Most green vacation that we ever had in Hot May.
Bangalore Airport: Very beautiful airport situated about 30kms from Bangalore city. Very nice place. Full of facilities, you will love to spend time here. Sure to give competition to any foreign airports. Lots of food option, shopping options.  This is connecting like to all major cities in India. While reaching air port form any where do consider factor of heavy traffic and make provision of extra time.
Transport: Best way is to rent a car and move around. Still public transport system is good and one can rely upon it. May be time consuming. We opt for private car. The drive to Mysore was smooth, though hot outside.
Bangalore to Mysore: Routing busy highway.  On the way do not miss the opportunity to visit “Ramgarh” the famous place where shooting of “Sholey” was done. Today you will find mountains and temples here, maintained by government.  Need to do some trekking sort of climbing stairs to visit the place. Do go, you will love the place.
We had taken lunch in famous “Kamath Restaurant” en route.  Good place to have south Indian food. We liked “Mudde idli”, please be careful while ordering south Indian thali which is locally popular, you may not like it.

Mysore:
Very beautiful city. Light rain welcomed us. Good city with different feel. We move around in evening. Mysore palace is a must visit place in Mysore. If you are fortunate to be there on Sunday evening, you can see entire palace enlighten in golden lights. They do lighting for about half hour, you will not stop clicking photos. While taking tour of palace, do take service of guide. He will help you in understanding importance every corner of palace. Rates are fixed you can ask for rate card.
Chamudi Hill Temple: A very good temple situated at height. Normally cars are allowed till end but when there is rush hour, you need to park at a distance and walk for about 0.25km to mandir. The temple is very nice. There is option to avoid que and do VIP darshan by taking ticket. Nearby there is big statue of “Nandi” do visit. While coming back there is point from where you can entire Mysore city.
Mysore Zoo: A very beautiful place, good for all ages. Very big park, you need about minimum 2 hours to visit. Lots of animals and birds you can see here with some big animal’s like Giraffe. Clean place in spite of heavy rush. If you have got senior citizens with you, there is facility for “golf cart” like small car which can take them around. Visit during morning hours to avoid hot weather.

Mysore to Ooty:
Takes about 3 hours. En route you will pass through “Bandipur National Park”. You have option to go for Jungle safari here, preferably early in morning or evening. This park is about one and half hour drive from Mysore. Most likely you will see Deer’s, Elephants in safari. Tiger is very rare. If you are fortunate enough without safari even while passing you can see elephants on your way to ooty. Ooty is located at height so prefer to reach by evening.
Ooty:
A beautiful hill station and favorite of many newly married couples. Bit commercialized now a days. Plenty of options to stay and eat.
Famous places includes: Lake, Botonical garden, train to coonor etc. Lake is very nice and do go for boating here. You can have option of doing pedal boating or just seat in motor boats run by them. What we like about this place is that “selfie is not allowed while boating. Very important safety measure. Need about an hour or so to visit this place. You will plenty of small food joints here serving variety of food.
Botonical Garden:  A very beautiful place. Variety of flowers with very good landscaping. Plenty of photo spots you will find here. Do spare couple of hours here. Good for people of all ages. Afternoon visits are better avoided to avoid heat. Do explore the entire garden.
Train to cooner: A small train runs between Ooty to coonor. About an hour journey one way. The entire route is very scenic. Most preferred time would be in morning or evening and pre monsoon or early monsoon is best time to view. Bit difficult to get tickets so spare some time in advance to stand in que. Advanced booking through IRCTC is not possible. They allow seating and standing passengers and issue limited tickets. Good if you get tickets otherwise you can leave it, nothing sort of must see.
Ooty to Wayanad:
The distance is about 120kms. Please do count exact time only by distance. As we had good amount of rain in between and at times good scenic view will make you take short break often. Start early in morning. During such green tour plan sightseeing in between travel from one place to another and spend good time in your hotel also.
Nearby attractions:
Pykara Lake: We enjoyed this place the most. Do go for boating. Try to go for motor boat 4 seat. Bit costly but a sure thrilling ride. Other options are also available, but ours was an awesome experience. Variety of fast food available here. Beware of monkeys. But a real good place and experience of motor boat. They take you to full round of lake.
Shooting point:   A good spot just near main road. You can have bit of hill climbing experience also. You can do horse riding also, kids will enjoy this for sure. At all places your will not stop taking photos. Token entry fee is there. Need typically about 1 hour here.
Pine forest and lake: Tall trees all around you. You will love this place. Keep walking along tress and enjoy the nature. A breeze of rain will add pleasure in your walk.  A famous spot for bollywood movie shootings. Keep walking and you will have beautiful view of lake. Perfect place for photography. Typically need about an hour here. No food joints in surrounding so please keep water and food along.
En route we were fortunate to see good number of deer. Very scenic drive. Couple of heavy rain spells made our journey thrilling.  We reach Wayanad in evening. Nearby big place is Sultan battery. Wayand is explored on your own destination.
Accommodation: Home stays are famous here and good number of famous resorts and hotels are also available. Choose accommodation carefully as you will spend more time in hotel or resort as entire area is very beautiful. Ours was one of the best.
Do go for guided jungle tour. Very good rare species of birds can be seen here. A treat for photo lovers and nature lovers.  We saw variety of birds here along with some snacks. You will also variety of trees and plants here. Of course famous is coffee, everywhere. Green green all around.  Do explore this place.
Only concern here is “leech” a sort of worm which sticks to your legs and sucks blood. Though very small in size, it can frighten for some. Once stick then cannot be easily removed by your hand or an object. They do not harm and you may bleed small amount the place where they have stucked. The guides carry dettol spray, due it, it drops immediately. They also provide some protective socks, but still they can stick. At places in Kerala they used to give Leech therapy also. So it is not harmful at all, except small quantity of bleeding.
We found here “Marble Squirrel” the one of rare species special found here and very big in size.
A town place, the population here is scattered. Surprising could find good cake and pastry shop here.
Banasura Dam:
We did not completely visit this place due to hot weather and rush of public. The waiting time for jeeps which takes you to the top was more so we skip this place after getting in. we saw from a distance.

Wayand to Coorg:
Excitement has just begun. It took us about 4-5 hours to reach with some breaks in between. What a journey. On the road while entering jungle the elephant was waiting to welcome us just by the side of road! What a sight. We were fortunate to find couple more on the way in the jungle. Deer’s are in good numbers, you will find them at regular intervals.
Most of the road is green, surrounded by tress of coffee and spices everywhere.
Try to reach your destination before 6pm in evening, as elephants entering in residential areas are a concern. You will also find places electric fences to prevent elephants from getting in.
Surrounding places.
Abbey Falls
A good scenic place with great view of surroundings. Involve bit of trekking like feeling. Go with extra pair of clothes if you want to play in water and take bath. Really good experience to reach this place, located at some height. While coming back we had good rain which made our experience even better. Be careful to avoid injury at top.
Raja`s Seat:
A place for clicks. Good for all ages, visit during morning hours or evening to have good view and avoid heat. You will love to take photos of view and of garden also. Need typically about an hour to visit this place.
Iruppu Falls
We visited this place in afternoon. You need to walk for about 0.5 km to reach to the falls. Bathing is not allowed here. You can view this falls from a distance. Nice place for photos
Dubare Elephant Camp:
A very good place for all ages. You will see good number of elephants doing various activities like eating, bathing etc. You can even bath them yourself for a fee. You will not stop clicking photos with them. You can reach this camp via two ways, take boat ride (needs ticket-and waiting is always there) or walk the small lake on your own experience the thrill of walking on rocks in water. Do carry extra pair of shoes and clothes. You will really love this place and walking in water. Do spare time here. You can do activities with elephants. Please note that there are fixed opening and closing timings of the camp.
Next day morning we took spice tour around our hotel. The guide was very knowledgeable who guide us and show us most of the plants. We felt proud the about the quality of spice that we produce in India. I hope we might be getting same quality.
We left hotel early as Bangalore is about 6 hours from Coorg and traffic in Bangalore is very heavy all the times. So be careful and avoid last minute rush.
On the way we had great vadas from Mayur Tiffany a place famous for variety of Vadas. Do try it.
We ended the tour with green color in front of our eyes and satisfaction of exploring 3 states in tour.

I hope you would also love this places.
